Who’s Behind the Cottage?

Hi, I’m Becky—the voice behind this blog, a professional dog trainer, former zookeeper (yes, really), indoor gardener, and animal lover. I live in Colorado (for now), where the mountains are majestic and the deer stare at you like you’ve ruined their whole morning.

Alongside me is my husband, Josh, full-time supporter of whatever madness I’m up to next.

We don’t have a homestead yet, but we’ve got big plans for one in Maine. Until then, we’re growing where we’re planted—and sharing every messy, muddy, and magical step along the way.

Why “Daffodil Cottage”?

Because when we started dreaming of our future homestead in Maine, we imagined a place that felt soft, welcoming, and rooted in nature. “Daffodil Cottage” came from our love of the flower (one of the few British blooms hardy enough to thrive in both England and New England). It’s our symbol of growth, resilience, and springtime joy—and now it’s our brand, our mindset, and the heart of everything we share.
